Statement of Intent

My Statement of Intent: I am going to create a website and a music video that follows the codes and conventions of the dance genre. Music from the dance genre is made by the use of electronics and is most commonly played in night clubs, concerts/raves and on radio stations. My music video is going to be 3 minutes long and my website will have a homepage and a linked page. The name of my artist is ‘Maddi-Blu'. The theme for my production is urban, I have decided to do this as because most dance music videos are of people on holiday so therefore I wanted a more edgy and gritty style of video. To do this I will use locations that portray this and I will use a commercial style of dance in the video. Media Audiences: The target audience for my website and music video will be people aged 16-25 years and in the AB audience demographic, who are culturally sophisticated. I will make my website and music video appeal to them as I will use people from the same age group so that my a

Newspapers Political Bias

Traditionally  The Labour Party  have been firmly on the left and have branded themselves in red whereas  The Conservative Party  have been firmly on the right have and have branded themselves in blue.  When New Labour (led by Tony Blair) came to power the Labour Party adopted a more centralised position whilst still leaning to the left and The Conservative Party (led by David Cameron) adopted a more central position whilst still leaning to the right. This has changed again recently with The Conservative Party moving more towards the right (as Teresa May has responded to the post-Brexit changes to the political landscape) and The Labour Party moving back towards a more traditional left (as Jeremy Corben represents a more socialist politics). ‘The Left’  is associated with ‘Liberalism’ (L) - ‘Socialism’ (L+) and ‘Communism’ (L++). This means that people who represent this party - Labour’s Members of Parliament (MPs) - and those who vote Labour share a set of values and ideology t

Media Theoretical Framework

The theoretical framework can be used to develop your own understanding of any media text.  •  media language:  how the media through their forms, codes, convention s and techniques communicate meanings •  media representations:  how the media portray events, issues, individuals and social group •  media industries:  how the media industries processes of production, distribution and circulation affect media forms and platforms •  media audiences:  how media forms target, reach and address audiences, how audiences interpret and respond to them and how members of audiences become producers themselves.

Research Task- Dance Music

What makes all of these music videos from the dance music genre? -there is people dancing in the videos -the music is upbeat -there are different dynamics in the music that make it more dance-like -there are rises and falls/build ups and drops in the music -the people in the music videos are wearing bold and bright coloured clothing -clothing is easy to dance in Explore how the artists are using representation to appeal to their target audience in these three videos by picking out key frames from the video to analyse. -used teenagers around the age of 16 to 20 in the video which means the target audience can relate to them and it will be more appealing to them as the target audience is of a similar age -all 3 of the videos use a diverse group of people making them appeal to a wider range of people -for at least some part of the 3 videos they are set outside in the streets which hints the dance style being street/hip hop/ commercial and lots of teenagers hang

Evaluating The Initial Footage

Framing -  We think that our shot is framed well. Our actor is in the center of the frame and the backdrop is fairly accurate against the original. Our shot could be improved by having the actor further away so that he is smaller in the frame and his knees are at the bottom. The professional shot is successful because it has a good use of contrast with the shadows and the outfit is clearly shown with a contrast between the shirt and skirt. Lighting -  Our lighting works fairly well, however it is slightly brighter than the original. We relied on ambient lighting which may have been too harsh with the halogen lights. The original appears to have relied on ambient lighting of the sun fairly late in the day through a window. The professional shot may have used their lighting in order to make the subject stand out by making the background darker. Mise en scene -  Our costume is fairly close to the original with the skirt and check shirt. The shirt could could be n

Billboard Posters

Statement Of Intent

For my fairtrade fashion adverts, I intend to follow the codes and conventions of existing fashion brands billboard posters. I will do this by having simplistic design but still be effective so that it stands out to the audience. My logo, slogan and brand all like to fairtrade as 'right' is another word for fair. As my name for my brand has 'apparel' at the end i feel like this makes it more realistic. The fonts I have used for my logo and slogan are very effective as they are bold and clear to see. My target audience is AB audience demographic; mainly women ages 16-25. To make my brand appeal to this audience I intend to use female models of the same age group on my billboards. This will be so that the audience can relate to the models. t will also appeal to them as the clothing will be on trend and very fashionable. I intend to have my billboards displayed at many different locations, for example bus stops, buses, train stations and buildings. This will make it more l
