Daddy G and mushroom were DJs and 3D was an artist/rapper. American Beauty-Scene Analysis

Representation: Lester is represented as a non-stereotypical 'Alfa male' character, as usually men are in charge of the house and they protect their family. Whereas he is very submissive, he is not in charge of the house, he gets told what to do and bossed around by is wife, Carolyn, he also gets treated like a child. Lester is an unhappy and depressed character and it really shows through by the way he acts and talks on a day to day basis. It comes across to the audience that he's not even allowed to talk in his own house about how he is feeling as he mutters under his breath quite a lot in the scene. As he gets treated like a kid he also acts like one as he is quite argumentative. The way Lester acts and is presented makes the audience kind of feel sorry for him as we, as an audience, know that he has depression therefore there is a reason for him to act in such way and his wife and his daughter, Jane, don't know what the audience know. This is called dramatic irony.

News Values and Audience Appeal

News Values The main headline is very big and bold which makes it stand out from the rest of the writing on the front page; it is even bigger than the masthead which could show that it is very important to the newspaper. There is two images on the front cover, but they are with the plugs on the page not the main headline, this could be because the editor wants the reader to know more information about the main headline as photos take up a lot of room. The image that goes with the plug about The Great British Bake off  is representing a typical British TV program in one of the main British newspapers. The image that goes with the plug about Jamie Oliver is a stereotypical article and image you would see on the front cover and inside a tabloid newspaper as it is about celebrities which is something you wouldn't find in a broadsheet. The main headline article appeals to the target audience as it is about the country that they live in so they will be interested as what it is abou

The Male Gaze-Music Video

Rihanna-Work ft. Drake In the first few seconds of the music video, Drake is shown to be watching Rihanna dance in a sexual way. Rihanna is wearing very little clothing and her top is see through so a lot of her body is revealed. However, Drake is just sitting casually on the sofa behind Rihanna and he is wearing a big and baggy jumper with baggy sweatpants. Which shows there is a big contrast between the type of clothing Rihanna is wearing compared to Drake. About 23 seconds into the video, Rihanna faces the camera and it is a close up shot of her face and she looks behind her to look at Drake and then she turns to look directly at the camera. Here she is 'breaking the fourth wall' to show she knows what she is doing, dancing in front of him sexually and impressing him. She has a serious face like she is concentrating but she also has a seductive look in her eyes which shows she is kind of teasing him. After this there is a little clip of around 2 seconds that is of R

A comparison of two national newspapers (The Guardian and The Daily Mail)

Comparison The main comparison between these two newspapers is that one is a tabloid and one is a broadsheet ; this also means the size of the newspapers are different too, the Daily Mail is half the size on the Guardian. Both of the newspapers have a masthead but the masthead for the Daily Mail is a lot larger and bolder than the masthead for the Guardian. The target audience for the Guardian is more aimed at older people as it has more detail and includes 'hard' news whereas the Daily Mail is aimed at younger adults and middle-aged people as it includes 'soft' news . The audience expectations for the Guardian is a lot different compared to the Daily Mail, as for the Guardian it is expected to see things about politics and the economy but for the Daily Mail it is expected to see things about celebrities. The Guardian is bias towards Labour views so therefore it is a left wing newspaper however the Daily Mail is bias towards conservative views so therefor

Representation of Teenagers

Story 1:Why's THAT in the test? Britain's stressed out teenagers complain about the impossible GCSE questions they couldn't possibly have prepared for.  The Mail online have posted pictures of tweets that teenagers have put up about GCSE exams. This tells the audience that they are kind making a joke about how they feel about the exams. The students said that they got impossible questions that they couldn't possibly prepared for. This lead to them making ''memes'' about the questions that they got given. Teenagers are represented as a bit immature as they are making it into jokes, however they are also represented as humorous as these jokes could be seen as fun to other teenagers that had the same exam or the same age as them. Positive words and phrases used: none  Negative words and phrases used : stressed out teenagers, complained, tricky GCSE questions, annoyed, bizarre, confused. Story 2:Teenagers are going to school high on DRUGS or on a comedo
