Statement Of Intent

For my fairtrade fashion adverts, I intend to follow the codes and conventions of existing fashion brands billboard posters. I will do this by having simplistic design but still be effective so that it stands out to the audience. My logo, slogan and brand all like to fairtrade as 'right' is another word for fair. As my name for my brand has 'apparel' at the end i feel like this makes it more realistic. The fonts I have used for my logo and slogan are very effective as they are bold and clear to see. My target audience is AB audience demographic; mainly women ages 16-25. To make my brand appeal to this audience I intend to use female models of the same age group on my billboards. This will be so that the audience can relate to the models. t will also appeal to them as the clothing will be on trend and very fashionable. I intend to have my billboards displayed at many different locations, for example bus stops, buses, train stations and buildings. This will make it more likely to attract my target audience as these places are main places that they target audience will visit on a daily basis which will hopefully generate more publicity for my brand and means that my target audience will see the posters regularly so therefore they will want to purchase items from my company. As my brand is fairtrade it will mean that the prices of the items sold will be higher than a normal brand but this will still be affordable to my targeted audience.  My billboard posters will link to the given brief as I will use media language and stick to billboard conventions whilst sill having it link to fairtrade as it is a main feature in my brand. I intend to use locations in my billboards that link to fairtrade, for example I will do one location in a cotton field as the clothes are made from fairtrade cotton and I will use trees and plants in another location as this links to fairtrade. This will also make it appeal to my target audience they are both picturesque settings. I also intend to have my clothing items made in a sustainable factory to make sure the clothing is excellent quality and the factory workers have the best possible working environment and a fair pay. Furthermore, this will make the clothing more luxurious and better quality than other brands that are not fairtrade fashion brands.

The Big Issue Front Cover Analysis

Masthead: As the masthead is bold it stands out from the other text, the background and the other elements on the front page which makes it catch the audience's eye at first glance which tells them what magazine they are reading straight away. On magazines sold in shops the masthead is usually spread out across the whole of the top section of the page, whereas the masthead for The Big Issue is only on one side of the page and it changes which side it is on for different magazines; for this magazine it is on the left. The masthead might not be the largest text on the page but it doesn't need to be as it is sold on the street so therefore it isn't sold right next to other magazines meaning it doesn't have the competition. Main Cover Line: The main cover line ''WHAT'S THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN...''  is very bold and is the largest text on the page showing that it is important to this magazine and it tells the reader what the magazine is going to...
